Witnesses of Consciousness

As the last days of Sungazing set upon me, a clarity and purity is presented for my arrival. Vast open space invites me in from the long, arduous journey. The past fifteen months have been a roller coaster ride of misery and bliss. Now I stand at the portal of pure potential. Finally waking up to the call. And finally answering .

How did I get here? I never would have imagined this chapter in my story when I was living (actually dying) in Denver for 18 years. Or even while living on the edge of the Columbia River in Oregon at the end of 2004. It wasn’t until Patrick and I left the first place we ever felt was really home in Eugene, Oregon and moved into an Earthship outside of Taos, New Mexico, that I realized anything can, and will, happen. That is how I got here…

Pitching myself into life fully, completely. Going deep within to drag out the darkness kicking and screaming , bringing it up into the light to look at directly in the eyes. Letting go of lies that I have lived my whole life disguised in. Opening up to a new way of perceiving. Perceiving myself, others, the world, life. Everything is different than I thought it was, than I was taught it was. Everything is so much more complex, more simple, more real, more unreal. Completely different. Turning my world upside down. In this inversion, I am finding my true self, wherever it is that I am.

As the first hint of day peaks through the thick fabric covering the bedroom window I stretch into shivasana and meditate until the brilliant ball of energy reveals itself on the distant horizon. Greeting the Sun with honor and respect, expressing gratitude for all it exposes in its omniscient light. Surrendering my Self to limitless possiblity as I open to the call of the Universe. Bare feet communing with bare Earth, centering, balancing, resonating — my very core with the core of the planet. Our hearts beat in unison. As one being, we create the day one moment at a time.

As we continue to witness the collapse of our current economic system, replete with the rampant greed of visionless leaders and executives who still attempt to distract our consciousness with the “Trojan horse” of globalization and alleged free market capitalism – a new economic system and sustainable model for future socialization is emerging. But don’t expect to see any of this making waves in any of the prevailing media outlets because this emergence transcends the preservation of our cultural priorities of convenience, consumption, and comfort. This new model is a departure from the top-down hierarchy and concentration of wealth and power that is predicated on the exploitation of all of the Earth’s resources (including humans) so that inequality is perpetuated indefinitely. The new system(s) empowers individuals by providing sacred space for healing, creativity, and compassion without financial barriers to thwart entry. When the end-game of profit and unsustainable growth is removed from the equation of how we assume life functions, a far vaster and inclusive-of-all-beings-potentiality can be brought forth into existence. This is where we are. At the embryonic stage of development where the canvas is blank and the activation of higher consciousness beckons. No longer imprisoned by an artificial and antiquated system of false beliefs and fear mongering which only serves to strengthen the erroneous concept of separation, human evolution is beginning to transcend the norm of the egoic, fragmented self. A larger, more holistic view of reality is coming into focus; a fundamental shift in awareness at the individual level is taking root. Here on this magical desert land, we are taking the steps necessary to bridge the gap between these two worlds so that people from any walk of life can have a tangible grasp on what is possible in a world of synergy and loving kindness - an illumination of the bridge connecting the road of mental concept to actualized experience. What happens when communities are created so that humans are equipped with the autonomy to actively participate in the shaping of a world that knows no difference between work and play, love and each passing moment? We invite you to come and find out for yourself.....

The tenants of this new model, these new communities might look something like this:

- constantly striving towards 100% sustainability and self-reliance in all aspects of life such as food production, clothing manufacturing, transportation, herbs, medicine/healing, power generation, water harvesting, cradle-to-cradle waste flows and construction
- a menu of on-site healing modalities based on the wisdom and traditions of major historical traditions, the best of Eastern and Western curative applications
- decentralized power structures so that each individual has an equal voice
- emphasis on evolution and creativity, not size and productivity levels
- information sharing with outside groups, no hoarding and protecting
- decisions made with consideration to the impact it may have on generations in the future (Iraquois Confederation)
